Atiba's Bio

ATIBA NEWSOME has been in the styling business for over 19 years. He got his first break after landing an internship with celebrity stylist June Ambrose. While working with Ambrose, Atiba learned the ins and outs of the industry and the importance of branding yourself. Atiba’s first big project was being the wardrobe supervisor for Missy Elliot’s Lilith Fair Tour, where he dressed Missy and her dancers. After the tour, Atiba went out on his own and started working with singer Kelis, who at the time was being managed by music mogul Sean P. Diddy Combs. After crossing paths several times, Combs commissioned Atiba to style him for the MTV Europe Awards which lead to the two working together on countless videos, campaigns and commercials. He even went on to be Combs in-house stylist and assistant designer for the Sean John Clothing line.
Atiba has styled some of the biggest names in entertainment such as Prince, Cardi B, Jay Pharoah, Robin Lord Taylor, Mary J. Blige, J.Cole, Faith Evans, Nas and CeeLo Green just to name a few. Atiba is known for his special ability to style both men and women, a very unique trait in this industry.
Atiba's work in fashion has landed him covers and features in publications such as L'Officiel, Rolling Stones, Billboard, Paper Magazine, Essence, Bleu Magazine, and XEX Magazine. He has also been lead stylist and wardrobe supervisor for several commercial spots and advertising campaigns for leading brands such as New Balance, Burger King, Wix.com, Sean Jean Clothing, Macy's and TYKU Sake.
As THE breakout star of Oxygen's reality show “House of Glam” series, Atiba gained the attention of the late legendary Prince. Following the rewarding experience on “House of Glam," Atiba had the privilege of being the head costume designer for Prince's "Welcome To America" world tour. His experience on "House of Glam" also landed Atiba the wardrobe supervisor for the Style Network’s "Empire Girls", starring "The Real’s" Adrienne Bailon and actress Julissa Bermudez.
Weather it's designing, styling, being a tv personality, published song writer and photographer, Newsome has definitely learned a lot from the entertainment industry and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
